Becoming A Consecrated Missionary
Happy Monday
I had a pretty good week this week!
The highlight of my day on pday was that we went ice blocking on these tiny ice cube blocks! It was super fun, but I ruined one of my white Tennessee shirts, but it was still very very fun! The ice blocks didn't slide down the hill too great because they were small, but once again, it was still fun!
The highlight of my day on Tuesday was that I was able to have an interview with my mission president. It was all going very very well, and then he brought up consecration... And we talked about that for a little bit. Then when my interview was over, I started to over think the fact that he brought that up. I was starting to think that he thinks that I am not a consecrated missionary. I mean yeah I can do better, but he literally thinks that I am not consecrated. The longer I thought about it, the more I realized that I can be a lot more consecrated than I am, but he doesn't think that. Yeah, I am not a perfect missionary, and the things my mission president said didn't tear me down and make me sad, it motivated me to do better! It was a really good interview, I'm grateful that the spirit was there to teach the both of us :)
I shared 1 Nephi 11:22 with him and told him about how much I love the people here in Tennessee. He told me that it's interesting to think that a Prophet sooo long ago describes the way I feel about the people in Tennessee.. I was like.. Woah
Wednesday was a great day! I got to go on exchanges with her and that was awesome! The highlight of that day was we went to a members house to share a message with them and they had a pet pig, like actual sized pig, and it was allowed in the house, literally it was like a dog. Very interesting, I got to give it a treat though!
My highlight of Saturday was my Greek gyro from Mo's falafel house. It was literally sooooo good! Made my whole week probably. Then our server, she gave me a free mountain dew, then right before we went to leave, she gave me a to go cup of mountain dew, like who does that? She also gave us free desert, it's called baklava (mom I don't know how to spell it, I need help) It was the best experience of my life, let me tell ya, I love gyros!! Then we walked around cute downtown Morristown and tried to street contact, but literally no one was there :( so I took a picture by Sawyer sewing, by this cool coke sign and by this Morristown painting!
I had a good week and I'm happy to be a missionary!! Luv ya
1 Nephi 11:22
And I answered him, saying: Yea, it is the love of God, which sheddeth itself abroad in the hearts of the children of men; wherefore, it is the most desirable above all things.
Sister Merritt!
