"She's A Really Bad Driver"

Hey y'all! I hope you had a good week! I had a great week, it went by pretty fast!

I'm just gonna tell you about some highlights that happened this week.

So to start off spiritually, Sister Erekson and I fasted this week, but we did a 24 hour fast instead of a skip 2 meals kind of fast. I thought it was gonna be so hard, but it wasn't that bad. I know why though, I prayed for strength to be able to go through this full fast. Something that I have learned recently is that we can receive strength through the enabling power of Jesus christ. So that's been cool

We found this awesome family this week, they are literally soooo cool. We made a new goal to find a new progessing teaching pool. And we have done a lot better at finding this week. One day during daily contacts I felt urged to just start messaging as many grey dots that seemed somewhat promising. And we texted this lady named Maria, we got talking to her and asked if we could come share a message with her and she was like yeah how about tomorrow. IT WAS AWESOME, when we went and met her we did how to begin teaching and we told her that as missionaries we help people work towards baptism and she was like "I was baptized in the catholic church before, but I was forced into it. I want to get baptized again, but I want it to be my choice." it was so sweet, she has 3 kids and 2 of them are baptismal age. She told us that her kids always ask "when are we gonna start going to church" I just love that family with all of my heart, I don't want to leave them, I want to help them progress towards baptism! Transfer calls are this weekend, and I've been here for three transfers, so it's likely that I will leave, but I hope not. 

This week I hit my 6 months left, which is exciting, but also depressing. 

Sister Erekson and I went and ate at Buffalo wild wings this week, so that was fun! We love that place, so it makes us happy to go, so we go. 

We had zone conference this week and it was at our church building, so that was nice. It was really spiritual, it was a 5 hour meeting full of the spirit. After zone conference I'm always very motivated, but at the same time I'm exhausted because those are long meetings ahaha. 

After zone conference, our friend Tosha was supposed to come get interviewed by our mission president to see if she can get baptized. And she didn't show up. I was so upset. When we told our mission president that she wasn't coming, I started to cry because I was just soooooo sad that she didn't come because I know how much this could bless her. So president Graham said "you know, I know that this sucks, and sister Merritt is starting to get a little teary-eyed. So how bout you two and sister Graham and I go and get some disappointment shakes from Pals" and then he gave us both a hug, he was like I know this kind of isn't allowed, but I'm gonna do it anyway, and he gave us a hug. It was the best! 

So yeah, we went and got shakes with the Grahams and it was the funnest thing ever. We talked about a bunch of different places we eaten, we talked about how we were all red Sox fans, we talked about so many different things it was so fun! 

Then when it was time to leave President Graham said he would back me and before he did, we were talking about how it's very awkward to back each other up and I told him that a missionary I knew would just tell people that whoever was driving is a bad driver. So while President was backing me up, there was people sitting in there car with the windows down watching him and he goes "she's a really bad driver" I was like PRESIDENT... I told you that out of trust. 

Two weeks ago we were about to do some tracting and before that we prayed specifically to find someone that would listen to our message that we had to share that day. And the first two knocks, they weren't interested, but the third one (her name is kitty) she was interested, she let us share a scripture with her from the Book of Mormon and we set up a time to come back. It was really really cool! Pray works y'all! 

I went on exchanges this week with sister Olsen, and I lost my name tag, so I had to wear her extra! I was really sad about that, but it's okay. We wanted Chinese food for lunch, so we were trying to find a good place, so we found this one, and we walked in and walked right back out. It was sketch. So we tried a different place and it was inside the mall. It was also sketch, but we went with it. It was disgusting, we were very disappointed.
