Sick Leave
Happy Monday everyone, hope you all had a good week this week!
My week was not great but it also wasn't horrible!
My sweet companion hasn't been feeling too well this week and so we have laid low almost all week! We definitely got to bond and grow closer as well as rest up, so there are ups and downs to the week.
An awesome miracle that we saw though was that we got to have a lesson with our friend Kyndra! We haven't had a lesson with her in almost a month. This was seriously so awesome! KYNDRA IS IN ALMA 40 in the book of Mormon! As soon as we got there, she pulled out her book of Mormon to show us some verses she's liked. We talked a lot about having faith, prayer, and leaning on God during our hard times. Kyndra said that she had stopped reading the book of mormon and her life started to go downhill. She said that she started thinking back to what helped everything go right and she said it was the Book of Mormon! So she pulled it out again, started reading it, and contacted us! Kyndra also said that they stopped reading the book of Mormon because her fiance Rey got nightmares from all the war chapters haha. We invited her to keep reading! We talked a lot about how awesome 3 Nephi is and Kyndra is super excited to read it!! I LOVE HER!!!!!!
We had zone conference this week and that was all centered on finding new people to teach and planning our days. As missionaries we plan out every hour of everyday, so we do a lot of planning and preparing. That is definitely preparing me to be a grown adult and to have plans and schedules haha.
Another story is that we were on the phone with this young adult guy and he we were sharing a scripture with him and he hung up right as I was reading the scripture to him. I was like what the heck. So we texted him and got nothing back. So then a couple days later we got a text from him and he told us he was drunk and that he was grateful we called and that he wants to get into a sober life. I was so upset that he hung up, but if he wouldn't of texted and told us that he wants to change because of us trying to share a scripture with him, I would have never known, so that was cool
Sister Boyack (my trainer) gave her departing testimony and it was soooo good, sad she's going home, but grateful I got to see with her!
I hope all is well for you all, I'm keeping lots of you in my prayers and I hope you're making good choices.
Mosiah 24:14-15
14 And I will also ease the burdens which are put upon your shoulders, that even you cannot feel them upon your backs, even while you are in bondage; and this will I do that ye may stand as witnesses for me hereafter, and that ye may know of a surety that I, the Lord God, do visit my people in their afflictions.
15 And now it came to pass that the burdens which were laid upon Alma and his brethren were made light; yea, the Lord did strengthen them that they could bear up their burdens with ease, and they did submit cheerfully and with patience to all the will of the Lord.
