Weaveyyyville North Carolina
Wow what a crazy week!!
So I moved to North Carolina this week and I love it here! I'm surrounded by mountains in this area and it makes me soooo happy, reminds me of home (of course the mountains aren't as big here, but they will do).
Saying goodbye to those that I love in past areas is so hard. It's like I get part time families in each area and then I have to say goodbye. It's tough, but it's also the best thing in the world. I love all those that I've met and I'm so grateful for the time I got to spend with them:)
Last Monday our district went to Raising Cane's for lunch and then we we to the institute building and played some ping pong. It was super fun, I love that district.
Sister Martinez came to Knoxville to take us to get ice cream. I love that woman, she is one of the best things God has ever made.
Tuesday was the day of goodbyes, saying goodbye just drains me, not one of my favorite days.
We had the weirdest dinner appointment ever. This cute old couple fed us and then they whipped out all of these paddles with missionary signatures on them, a bunch of the signatures were missionaries that I know. They told us how it's tradition that they adopt the missionaries by them taking a picture about to get hit with a paddle, then they send it to our parents, and then they hit us with it... Weird I know. Well we went with it because all of these other missionaries that we know have done it, it was awkward and uncomfortable that's for sure.
Wednesday was transfer day and I had to say goodbye to sweet sister Erekson :( sad day, I love her.
My new companion Sister Asay is awesome. She's a lot of fun.
Our drive to North Carolina was about 2 and a half hours. When we got here we realized that sister Asay left her bag in the chickfila in Knoxville. Well her bag had the other sisters keys in it... So sister Asay and I had to drive all the way back to Knoxville and then eat a quick dinner and then all the way back to North Carolina. That led to a late night out haha.
On Thursday we had lots of meetings. District council, planning with the zone leaders, and stake coordination.
Our stake coordination kind of sucks here, the whole meeting was about starting a new Spanish group for the area. We didn't talk about missionary work for a whole hour of the meeting. It was kind of a waste of our time to be honest.
Something I've learned on my mission is that the Lord provides when we trust in him. MIRACLE IN WEAVYYVILLE
We met our friend Eric who was a refferal from some elders in Oregon. He's been taught for the past couple months and just moved back here to his hometown. He said he knows the Book of Mormon is true and he wants to make a covenant with God and be BAPTIZED!!! He's been to church and already knows some of the members too!! He decided he wants to work towards being baptized on March 4th!!

Friday was a good day, not a lot happened except for this really long member meal with this sweet old lady. Her name is sister Tomberline. She drove us, so we were stuck with her for a while haha.
On Saturday we tried knocking a couple of doors and people were just rude to us. This one lady just kept shaking her head no at us the whole time we were speaking. She wasn't having us being at her house. We asked is she was interested in us sharing a scripture and she said "not at all"
Then we knocked on this other ladies door haha and she answered and said "I sleep during the day, go away" so we left, but we decided to write on a picture of Jesus to leave for her and as we were about to write it she opens the door again and was like "I'M A NURSE GO AWAY" we were like oh sorryyy and she was like "GOOOOO" she must have had a bad night at work last night. We were sure to pray for her that night..
On Sunday we finally got to meet all the members of our ward which was awesome. Sister Asay and I both gave talks in Sacrament meeting which was a blessing because we were able to introduce ourselves to the whole ward at once. This ward is very little, but they all seem so awesome! I love them already!
1 Nephi 14:14
And it came to pass that I, beheld the power of the Lamb of God, that it descended upon the saints of the church of the Lamb, and upon the covenant people of the Lord, who were scattered upon all the face of the earth; and they were armed with righteousness and with the power of God in great glory.
I'll send in my talk I gave in sacrament meeting down below.
I messed up in it a little bit, I said my niece and nephew were born about a month ago, when they were born two and three months ago. Time is just going by super fast for me so I didn't even realize haha. Anywas, hope you enjoy :)
I love you all and I'm doing well :)
Have a good week and God Bless
