Call Me Bob The Wrecker
Wow so this week was insane!
Okay so this week didn't really kick off up until Friday. I was sick all week and then my comp got a little sick too, so it was rough. I'm good now, just a little bit of after effects of a cold.
The last half of my week was crazy let me tell ya, it was really good, fun, crazy, a little sad, but very memorable.
On Friday I went on exchanges with Sister Seegrist in Marion NC and that was super fun. We had some good conversations and I about got hit by a truck, but we are all good.
Saturday was INSANE. We had service set up to go and help one of our friends that we are teaching clean her trailer home. She told us it was bad, but when she said bad I didn't think she meant BAD. There were spider webs everywhere, cat poop, kitty litter, clothes everywhere, you couldn't see the floor, cigarettes galor, you name it and it was probably hiding somewhere in that house. Anyways a job I did whole we were there was clean up spider webs, such a perfect job for me... I took this broken hanger and I just started swirling it in the webs, it was gross but it's done now. Another job that I did was clean off her bed and put her clothes away in her bedroom. All I'm gonna say is that there were quiet a few stink bugs present. I really feel like God was giving me strength through this one, I'm not gonna lie. I was making jokes and having fun while doing it though. There was a point where we had cleaned up all the trash on her kitchen floor and she started to open this box of cigarettes and she threw the trash right on the floor again. I may have said "HEYYYY, what the heck, we just cleaned that up for you" Clearly I'm not ready to be a parent yet because I made her watch me pick it up and throw it away and I didn't make her do it. Then as we were about to leave she told us that she needed her couch chair to be taken to the road because she was getting rid of it, so we tried to get it out of the door, but it wouldn't fit. So we asked her what she wanted us to do and she handed me a hammer and told me to take care of it. Yeah as you can imagine I totally destroyed that couch.
I really do feel God's love for this lady though, I love her a lot and I feel for her. I know that her home is a disaster, but I know that God and Jesus christ are able to see around that and I should too. Shes a really sweet old lady and she reminds me of mamma oudy from princess in the frog.
Then on Saturday night we had transfer calls. :( Sister Asay is getting transfered to an area in Oak Ridge called Poplar creek and I will be staying here in Weaverville. My new companion will be sister Garbett and I know things will be really good and really fun with her, so that's great! I'm really sad Sister Asay has to leave though, I know next transfer will be good, but I'm not necessarily excited for it.
Something that I love about Sundays is the fact that we get to stand right at the entrance of the building and greet everyone. That is one of my favorite things to do. From day one there has been this sweet old man that just didnt look to happy to be there. Every Sunday when he walked in, I started talking to him and teasing him. Yesterday when he walked into church he came in with a big grin on his face and said "well how's my two favorite missionaries doing?" it was the sweetest thing!
During second hour of church we went to the YSA class and there was only 4 of them in there and they all are super cool. That was a memory I don't want to forget, I got to bear testimony to them about how the gospel has blessed me and my family, it was really special.
Anyways, hope yall are doing well!
Peace
