Church Of God Parties Are Lit :)
Happy Happy Monday :)
Wow this week went by crazy quick, time is flying by and it's scaring me. I had a really good week, a lot happened so here ya go.
Something that I wanted to tell you about this week is that we are teaching this lady and her name is Sherlie. She is the sweetest thing ever, she isn't really religious at all. Growing up her parents weren't religious so neither was she. She had a tough past, she's lost a lot of her children and family members. We have only taught her twice so far, we taught her what the book of Mormon is the first time we were there and then we taught her the restoration the second time. We brought a really sweet old member to the lesson with us and while we were teaching about the dispensation we asked the member about prophets and she brought up the time in our church when African Americans weren't allowed to learn or be apart of our church. When she was talking about that, I wanted to cry. We quickly explained to her that there was some struggles in building up christ church and then we moved on. I quoted the first vision to her and the spirit was soooooo strong and we could just tell that she felt it. It was super special. She is a very good listener and when we ask her questions you can tell that she's been listening. She has a daughter that lives right up the road too, and apparently she LOVES genealogy. So that's super exciting.
Something else that was really cool was the member that came with us to that lesson, afterwards she took us to this birthday party at a church of God. At first she just left us in the car, but then everyone told her to bring us in. So we went in and they let us eat and everyone was soooooo nice to us. It was a really cool experience, when we walked in the doors everyone's eyes turned to us, it was kind of intimidating but I just know they felt the spirit. I love telling people about my mission and what it is that we do as missionaries.
We drove back to Knoxville again this week for exchanges, so that was fun. I went on exchange with Sister Strong, but I forgot to get a picture with her, oops.
I was at church on Sunday and all the sudden I just got a fever and I was freezing cold. It was kind of miserable. So I'm a little sick right now, but I'm getting better. This makes me think of when Triston was on his mission, he would never tell mom when he was sick. You're welcome for telling you mom.
Anyways, I love y'all and hope all is well, let me know if there is anything I can pray for for you :)
